Any country that ventures into nuclearisation has to choose between protection of borders and security of people. By going nuclear India has opted against the security of people. A country that cannot feed its hungry, cloth the naked and house the homeless, has gone nuclear spending millions and millions of rupees. If the money spent on the nuclear explosions was spent on providing water, electricity and education to the impoverished, India could have been transformed into a major power. Bombs do not add to the power of a nation. In fact, the May explosions are a crime against planet earth and the people of India.

Nuclearisation is immoral and a sin against the people. The urgent need is to evolve and joint people’s movements for disarmament and stop all further measures for the nuclearisation of the country.
