India is an ancient country where many civilizations have emerged, flourished and perished. Earliest discovered is Harappa and Mohenjodaro which flourished in about 3100 BC or before. The present book gives an authoritative account of Indian history in its pristine glory to the present state of affairs.

It is the land of sacred Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas. Sanskrit probably the earliest of Aryan languages was mother tongues of the India.

India had been a victim of foreign invasions since 326 B.C. But all those who came before Muslim invaders followed the faith of land and became part of Indian society.

The foundation of Muslim Sultanate at Delhi was laid by Muhammad Ghori when he defeated Prithvi Raj Chauhan of Ajmer in 1193 A.D. The Muslim invasions not only brought Islam to India, subjected its population to various kinds of barbarities and religious persecution but also left one third of Indian population converts to Islam.

The Muslims and their clergy of foreign origin gave birth to two nation theory under the divide and rule policy of British government in India into Pakistan and Indian Union. The Hindu-Muslim riots that followed just before partition claimed 6,00,000 lives beside resulting in migration of one hundred and forty million mostly Hindus and Sicks.
