As a practical measure People in India should follow Mahatma Gandhi. He discusses in detail the Gandhian concept of social reconstruction and the role of political parties in it.



In this revised volume, three more chapters have been added. One deals with Prof. Myrdal's views on Indian society as reflected in his book Asian Drama, second reviews the development in the country from 1975 to 1984, and third, reviews the progress made in the country during last fifty years since independence and the task ahead for the next few years.
