Description
The subject of this book is of absorbing interest, because Science has captured the imagination of people all over the world. Similarly, Vedanta too has captured the imagination of the people from the most ancient times because of its revolutionary spiritual discoveries.
However, Science investigates only a part of the universe, the physical universe, external to and excluding the investigation of human personality. It takes the empirical view of man and tries to increase his knowledge of the external world and makes his life comfortable by the control and manipulation of environment, materials, forces and energies. It does not go into the fundamental questions of the origin, nature, and meaning of the total universe in itself and its purpose; or of the nature of man, life and its purpose, and the final goal of man.
On the other hand, while maintaining a scientific and rational approach, Vedanta is a full philosophy of Reality, life, and existence, and is a great support to morality, ethics, aesthetics, and religion. It reveals that the true nature of Man is divine, he is a Soul living in a body, and helps him to realize it and manifest it in life through Yogic paths.
A harmonious combination of Vedanta and Science will raise humanity to a higher level of culture and a fuller ideal in life and lead Man to fulfillment both in Secular and Spiritual fields by helping him to attain Abhyudaya (Secular Prosperity) and Nihsreyasa (Spiritual Felicity).
