Description
Modern day research supports the concept that the mind is possibly the place where all human illnesses originate. The mind, which is the cause of diseases itself, is also its cure. A spasm can affect clogged arteries to cause a heart attack. Panic can lead to such a spasm.
For the past few decades, The Yoga Institute, Santacruz has been changing the lives of persons suffering from Cardiac disease, Hypertension and Stress through the many two-day Health camps held at the Institute. Thousands of persons are taught the yogic way of life through the techniques and philosophies of this valuable ancient wisdom.
In 2000, The Yoga Institute, under the guidance of Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra, Director, Smt. Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra and leading cardiologist Dr. Shekhar Ambardekar launched the CARING HEART PROJECT.
Through a series of press advertisements, patients suffering from coronary artery disease were asked to participate in a major Yoga lifestyle research project. All pre and post research testing were free, but most importantly, for a full year, participants were imparted comprehensive training in a YOGIC LIFESTYLE: through the positive regimes of classical Yoga.
This exposure to the ancient knowledge of Yoga techniques and philosophy was imparted with the objective of changing attitudes and incorporating discipline and balance in life, which is so important for patients suffering from cardiac diseases.
The results and findings of this detailed study on THE CARING HEART PROJECT have just been consolidated. For the very first time, detailed test reports of these patients have been compared to control group. Not exposed to any Yoga training. And the results are most astounding.
The approach is holistic view, where the body mind and soul are given a boost…. to overcome this serious bodily through Yoga. Lifestyle change advocated by the Yoga Institute in Santacruz, Mumbai.
The results of this study speak clearly for themselves!
Modern medicine has realized that it needs to look beyond its nose for answers.
This book is not just the result of this detailed research. It is a detailed guide for daily healthy living!!! Nothing is too serious and nothing is too late to change!
Golden insights into not just physical Asanas, Pranayams, Kriyas…but healthy daily routine is blended well with wholesome dietary changes and myriad other invaluable facts. Risk factors, details on stress control and the mysteries of the mind are all explained in this beautifully illustrated and coloured book.

COMMENTS:
In this Project Coronary Artery has been approached from the holistic point where the mind, body and soul are given a fillip to overcome the bodily Disability by the lifestyle changes followed in this study at the Yoga institute. The results speak for themselves. This is a very important study, despite very many burdles. I congratulate Dr. Jayadeva Director of the Yoga Institute, and Hansa the dean for directing the Caring Heart Project. I must also appreciate the wisdom of modern medically trained Doctors associated with the study who have shown the courage to come forward and give credibility to the study from the point of view of the present westernized world where anything coming from the West is gospel truth. Science is organized curiosity with logical skepticism. By this definition this study has been not only scientific but an advance in scientific thinking.
