Description
Private investigator Prodosh Mitter (felu) arrives in Benaras for a holiday with cousin Tapesh and friend Lalmohan Ganguly, an adventure storywriter.
They go to Darbhanga Ghat to take a look at the famous Machhli Baba. There they meet Umanath Ghoshal who informs felu of the theft of a rare and valuable gold statuette of Ganesha from his father’s safe.
Umanath’s father, Ambika Ghoshal, a retired intelligent lawyer engage felu to solve the mystery of the hidden Ganesha. Felu interrogates the other members of the house, which include Umanath’s eight-year-old son Ruku and Bikash, a dependent of the family.
They are informed of Maganlal, a smuggler of valuable Indian goods, who wanted to buy the Ganesha but was turned down. Later felu had a fearful encounter with Maganlal who offered to bribe him.
Shashi Babu, the image-maker of the Ghoshal household is murdered suddenly deepening the mystery.
Felu solves the mystery in-spite of Maganlal’s threat and finally unravels the story of the missing Ganesha.
