Description
Four friends from Calcutta – Asim, a promising executive, Sanjoy, a labour officer in a Jute mill, Hari, an all-round sportsman, and Sekhar, a jobless parasite with a yen for gambling, leaves the city for the forests of Palamau to spend a holiday.
In the evening, the friends go exploring in the wood s and come to a local wine shop. Hari is attracted to a tribal girl Duli. They discover the presence of two to, young sophisticated women. Later on, they gain access to the Tripathi family to which the two women Aparna and Jaya belonged. Asim gets interested in Aparna though she tries to remain aloof. A series of events follow in which the young men find themselves in various embarrassing positions even to the extent of been asked to leave the illegally acquired bungalow but then ultimately was saved by Aparna’s father who was an old friend of the conservator. Events take their own turn at the village fair and the film ends with the young women having to leave suddenly for Calcutta with the men left behind to realize that they had nothing more to do in the forest.
