Description
She was born at the stroke of twilight, when the sun embraced the horizon. Saikat, and her father, saw a luminescent aura enveloping his daughter and named her ‘Saanjbathi’ (twilight lamp), endearingly Tukun.
Drawn deep into the mysterious world of strokes and colors on her father’s canvas, she listens to his half-soliloquzing talks about the mysteries of creation, as she is spurred into a strange quest for meaning in her life and her name-Saanjbathi.
As she is natured by her father’s world of ideas, and I the shadow of her mother’s love. Tukun gets entwined with relationships which to cloud her perspectives. While she oscillates between comprehension and confusion, she seeks refuge in the silhouettes of her mind’s eye, who guide her towards realizing ‘Saanjbathi’, Churned by the experiences, she attempts to alienate herself from the turmoil in her environment. The silhouettes disappear and she is left unfulfilled and wandering but the intense ecstasy of creativity overcomes all barriers and brings a greater and more complete understanding of life and thus reuniting her with her roots.
