Description
Ezra Mir was born in a reputed Jewish family of Kolkata. He went to Hollywood and gained experience in different facets of film production. On his return to India, he got busy with the production of a series of feature films till he was commissioned to produce News Reels and documentaries for the Information films of India.
In 1956, Government of India appointed him as the Chief Producer, Films Division, where he directed / produced more than 30 documentaries. He has been considered the doyen of documentary film production in India.
