Description

A Long Way is a compilation of speeches made by the former Prime Minister Shri P V Narasimha Rao in various prestigious meetings and lectures around the world.

If topics like Gandhi: Forever Relevant reveals his deep admiration and an almost unshakeable faith in the continuing relevance of the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, India at Fifty is a brutally honest appraisal of the nation and its people- their hopes and aspirations, fears and anxieties.

His speeches on Sri Aurobindo and Non-aligned India are manifestations of the man himself-one who is at peace with both worlds.

REVIEW

My basics are secularism, non-alignment, removal of poverty, opening up avenues for the younger generation, for the genius of the people to blossom forty; my basic (task) is to remove all that comes in the way of the nation’s initiative and progress, which means the progress of individuals composing the nation, groups composing the nation (by making) opportunities available to different sections; all the barriers are to be removed. That is what I am trying to ring about. I don’t say that I am doing it tomorrow. I am not that foolhardy or that unrealistic. But you have to have a vision.
-P V Narasimha Rao
