Description

The Invocation of God (Al-Wabilal-Sayyibmin al-kalim al-Tayyib) is a magnam opus by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. In this treatise, Ibn Qayyim enumerates about 100 benefits for remembering God. It is a unique book of its kind. Infact, by using the world Kalimal-Tayyib, he has hinted the Qoranic Verse The good worlds ascend to Him. There are very few people like him in this world.

Shams al-Din Mohammad Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Qayyim was a famous eighth century theologist, prolific writer, reformer and crusader against the innovations which had intruded in the religion of Islam. He also waged a relentless war against Shiite and other strayed sects. He was born in 691/1292, in a small village near Damascus in Syria. He received his Islamic education in the Madarsa of Aljawziyya, a centre for Hanblite Fiqah (Jurisprudence) in Damascus. He included the name of this great institution with his name and called himself Ibn Qayyim Aljawziyya. His father was the principle of this institution.

Ibn Qayyim was very popular amongst the people. He recited Holy Koran in melodious voice. His main quality was that he neither harboured jealousy against any one nor harmed any body. He never found fault with others.
