It was in 1986 when we first brought out the World-Famous Series in Hindi. Our idea behind publishing the series was to make our readers aware of the international events in various fields of knowledge. The overwhelming response which we received prompted us to bring out the similar series in English too.

This particular book World Famous Adventures is one of the latest titles from the same series.

This is a book about men, ordinary men who, by their daredevilry, became heroes overnight. The word ‘impossible’ was not in their dictionary. They fought courageously with nature’s wrath in seas, oceans and at mountain tops.

Because of such remarkable traits in their nature, they did what most of the men couldn’t do. It is these factors which stimulated us to compile sketches of their lives and adventures and present it to our valued readers.

We have kept our promise of keeping the language simple and lucid and the pen-drawings make the book more beautiful. We sincerely hope that this humble effort of ours, like all the previous ones, will provide the readers with both knowledge and enjoyment.
