Description

This book is a Hindi translation of The Memoirs of Babar, an abridged rendering of Emperor Babar's autobiography originally written in Turkish.

This work truly embodies the career of the founder of the Mughal empire in India. It has the rare distinction of being contemporary with the events it describes. Babar Nama has the complete record of Babar's life when Babar ascended the throne at the young age of eleven to September 1529 when he had established himself as a monarch.

Translated in English by Annette Susannah Beveridge, this memoir is unique not only from the historical point of view but also from the rich literary contributions to the oriental languages. With the Memoirs of Babar began the tradition of autobiographical writings followed by some of his successors.
