We are happy to bring out this abridged version of the book ‘Bliss is Within’ which contains the twenty-two select topics dwelt upon by Paramapujya Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj on various occasions, addressed to audiences belonging to different temperaments. Swamiji’s emphatic style, telling manner and unambiguous presentation of the arcane Vedantic truths directly goes deep into the inner recesses of the reader.
In order to make the book compact and concise, three of the topics and some portions of the remaining topics and some portions of the remaining topics, which were considered to be descriptions and elaborations, were dropped, keeping the flow and spirit in tact. Often, while using a Sanskrit word, phrase or verse, Swamiji would give either a translation or a free rendering of it. These have been included in the text.
Otherwise, the meaning follows in parentheses or can be found in the glossary, with exception of a few common words like Brahman, Atman, Yoga, Vedanta, guru and ashram which are commonly used by the spiritual seekers.
May this volume continue to serve as a means of giving a clear-cut idea about the bliss which, though illusive in myriad names and forms, is ever present within everyone.
