Description
There is no issue of greater concern to the world’s future than the rapid rise in human population. The enormous dimensions of present-day demographic change become clear and really rather shocking. If the current predictions of population growth prove accurate, and the patterns of human activity remain unchanged, science and technology may not be able to prevent either irreversible degradation of the environment or continued poverty for much of the world. The real and ultimate reason for our concern is the sustainability of our life on the planet. Pressures resulting from unrestrained population growth put demands on the natural world that can overwhelm any efforts to achieve a sustainable future.
The answer to the population problem lies in effective, real and environmentally sustainable development bringing an improved quality of life. We have to focus on and persuade our authorities and policy makers to concern themselves about population control and sustainable development for global stability.
