Description

A Collection of 51 Ghazals of Shakeel Badauni Translated by Khwaja Tariq Mahmood. The book contain original Urdu text, Roman and Hindi transliteration and poetical translation into English.

Shakeel Badauni had been writing songs for Hindi / Urdu films for a very long time. In those years, he gave very healthy and meaningful songs to our films. Film Legend Dalip Kumar says, he had the privilege of working in many of the films in which Shakeel had contributed lyrics, prominently being Mela, Babul, Deedar, Urankhatola, Aan, Amar, Kohi-Noor, Ganga Jamuna, Mughal-E-Azam..

Late Arzoo Lakhnavi had laid foundation of writing literary and high leveled songs in films, and it was then Shakeel who followed the tradition. And this made him a great poet of Indian films, and more so of Urdu language.

Contents

No Restraint on Sight

Someone is Bringing

As Long as Love’s Magic

Heart is Enhanced in

I am becoming beloved’s

Sight of beloved

Favors again

Love is no Secret

Beloved is Distraught

Who May Complain

Heart again is engulfed

Colorful idol House

In Beloved’s Enclave

Don’t Ask as How

If no good is your quest

For my torment beloved

Ways of Capricious

Why beauty is not

Why not I Rejoice

Land of Adam’s Legacy

When Joy is hard to find

The Ploy is enough

The New Caretaker

Tales of worldly woes

I recite the song of Love

You have kept your cool

Heart will not be

On Earth efflorescence

In Waywardness we wish

Beloved from us

Pining for You

The Eye is seeing beloved

From Morning Muse

We regard the worlds

Afflicted by Life’s Abuse

Easy as it may be

Here we are

Colorful Night

Without Beloved

I have No Longing Left

Whenever we make

Delightful Times

I Write a Tale of Love

O You Arbiter of Fate

I Paint your Portrait

Beloved is out of Tough

O God in Heaven

This is a Citadel of Justice

You are incandescent

This is a Realm of Reality
