Description
A hamper of Hindi Short Stories with authors ranging from Premchand to Mrinal Pande. These stories reveal as through a prism, varied facets - attitudinal, moral, cultural and economic.
They reflect contemporary aspirations for modernity, which created further alienation and disparate notions of ethics. Poverty, anguish, loneliness, promiscuity, duplicity, anger, guilty, love and crisis of identity - all this is mirrored in this collection of stories. Women's inner and outer lives often become a focal point. Styles differ, but the vision is open and empathetic.
