Description

A statement of author's finding that some ancient stalwarts ought to be treated with a little more respect and that there is need for giving little more credit to their intelligence and rationality.

What are ideals if they cannot be put to practical use! And what is collective action if there is no pursuit of an ideal!

Obviously, if modern civilization has a sense of order in it, it has its own ideals too. And those ideals, in turn come from basic assumptions or beliefs about nature; beliefs about what man is, what he wants and what he would do in various situations. The catch however is that many remarkable investigators of human nature differ dramatically in opinion to the beliefs of our modern world.

Intriguing as the beliefs are, the conclusions drawn this other point of view are no less surprising.

The implications of their ideas on individuals, the anticipated effect on the system we live in, the impact of their ideas would have on our homes, work, purpose and efficiency, all form matter for an interesting study.

This work is no investigation into any particular philosopher's philosophy. Nor has the author intended to offer a yoga for spiritual realization. Rather, it is a narration of the finding that, may be, some ancient stalwarts ought to be treated with a little more respect than they are accorded with now, and that may be there is need for giving a little more credit to their intelligence and rationality. After all, has any individual or nation ever truly prospered who did not honor the wise.
