Description
These volumes contain the literature of the Grihya-Sutras- Rules of Vedic Domestic Ceremonies - during the oldest period of Hindi antiquity. These ceremonies are either contemporaneous with or even earlier than the most ancient hymns of the Rg-Veda. THE Grihya-Sutra ascribed to Sankhayana is based on the first of the four Vedas, the Rig-veda in the Bashkala recension, and among the Brahmana texts, on the Kaushitaka. Volume 29 Carries translation by Hermann Oldenberg of four Grihya Sutras viz: Sankayana, Asvalayana, Paraskara and Khadira. Volume 30 carries Hermann Oldenberg's translation of Gobhila, Hiranyakesin, Apastamba Sutras and Yagna.
