National Museum was established in 1949 and now its collection consists of about 1,50,000 works of art, both of Indian and foreign origin, representing almost all disciplines of art: archaeology, sculpture, paintings, epigraphy, numismatics, decorative arts, jewelry, textiles and anthropology.
Out of this vast collection, only 368 art objects were chosen for a National Exhibition. This selection represents some of the finest examples covering different areas of Museum's collection.
