The miniatures in this portfolio are from the well-known collection of Jagdish Prasad Goenka of Bombay.
The present brochure illustrates three miniatures of the Rajasthani Bikaner 'Kalam' and five miniatures of the Pahari school representing the distinctive 'Kalams' of Bisholi, Nurpur, Kangra, Mandi and Garhwal, the last named being reproduced on the cover of the brochure.
All these miniatures are of very high quality which is the feature of the collection. They are not only fascinating for their beauty to the general reader but are also of much interest to scholars of Indian miniature painting.
This collection is accompanied by a 4-page commentary by Anand Krishna dwelling on details of each of the miniatures.
