Description

This work presents an exposition of some of the Sikh Gurus' teachings as embodied in Guru Granth Sahib with a view to usefully inform the practical life of a spiritual aspirant.

As soon as man begins to reflect, he asks certain questions about himself, the universe, about his duties and his destination. The answers come under the purview of religion, and its four aspects viz theology, metaphysics, ethics and rituals.

The goal of life, according to Sikh thought, is to develop a higher consciousness and link it with the supreme consciousness, namely God. Link of the individual soul with the infinite would lead to higher dimensions of consciousness, and man gets mukti here while yet alive. He becomes jeevan mukt, attuned to the cosmic order.
