Description
A story about a young girl’s journey of desires and hopes, Mondo Meyer Upakhyan is taken from a short story by Prafulla Roy.
Being pushed by her mother into prostitution, the story takes you into the life of young Lati, who endeavours to escape the situation she was born in. Coincidental with the first trip to the moon in 1969, her journey is paralleled with the journey of three brothel girls’ quest of freedom and an elderly couple’s journey of blissful unawareness. Refuge comes in the form of Nagen, the village schoolmaster, who helps Lati to go to Calcutta and complete her education.
