Description

It starts off with Devendra (Dilip Kumar) on his way to the station to receive his wife Radha (Vyajantimala) and child. But, due to a landslide, he is forced to take shelter in an abandoned “Haveli” along with his friend (Tarun Bose), where he recalls many things that happened to him earlier.
He recollects that he had come here in his previous life but not as Devendra but as Anand, a painter and an Estate Manager working for lecherous Ugranarayan (Pran). Anand meets a tribal girl Madhumati (Vyajantimala) and is besotted by her beauty & falls in love with her.
But as their love prospers, Ugranarayan, in order to fulfill his nefarious deeds, entraps Madhumati in his castle, where she meets her tragic fate while Anand is out for some work.
When Anand discovers this, he plunges into despair & grief. It is at this time when Madhumati’s look-alike Madhavi (Vyajantimala, in a triple role) enters the picture. Together, Anand & Madhavi hatch a plan to scare Ugranarayan & make him confess his crime. But what follows next is something really supernatural.
