Description
JEEVAN MRITYU is the story of an honest man who is dishonoured for being honest and convicted for a crime he did not commit.
Ashok (Dharmendra) a young graduate, in love with Deepa (Rakhee) was the happiest man with a well paying job as assistant manager in a bank and marriage to Deepa in the near future. He lived with his ageing mother who looked forward to the marriage of her son in great anticipation.
However all hell broke loose on the day of the marriage as police arrived at his house to arrest him. He was accused of stealing money from the bank. Since he was the assistant manager, in the absence of the manager he had the keys to the vaults. A part of unaccounted money was also found from his house making the case against him stronger.
He is sentenced to several years of imprisonment, he asks Deepa to take care of his mother, which she does with utmost respect. However years later when he is released, he finds his house and family scattered. His mother is dead and Deepa has relocated. Devastated, but still honest, he meets Raja Ranbir Singh who believes in his story, gives him a job and a new identity, as Bikram Singh and then tells him to seek Deepa, and his shrewd and calculating colleagues at the bank to extract vengeance.
How he gets even with his colleagues is a treat worth a watch.
