Description
Shiela Gujral is a prolific writer and poet, equally versatile in Hindi, Punjabi and English. Allied Publishers had the privilege of publishing her first book of poems in English, Two Black Cinders in 1985. Thereafter we published the majority of her poetry in English and the revised version of Two Black Cinders.
With an MA in Economics, a diploma in Journalism and in Montessori Training, Shiela Gujral has a wide range of interests that occupy her mind. Though Poetry in her forte, it is important to remember that Shiela Gujral remains an indefatigable writer of prose. Her first person narrative of life in the erstwhile Soviet Union had been hailed as an important record of events and impressions during a critical period of Indo-Soviet relations by various critics in India and Abroad.
It is in this area of her prose writings that the present publishers stumbled upon a large number of entertaining and beautifully crafted belles letters, mini travelogues, and profiles of men and women, who have made a deep impression on her. We sifted through her work in various newspapers and journals and decided to crate the present volume entitled So many journeys.
This collection will fascinate readers both in India and abroad.
