Centenary celebrations to commemorate the birth of Swami Vivekananda hundred years ago aroused a new interest in re-studying the life and teachings of the great Swami. A great disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he was, in the recent centuries, the first Hindu missionary who went abroad and re-enunciated to the world the Hindu Message of the Universal Religion (Sanatana Dharma).

It was he who laid the foundation of the regenerated Bharat by making the country aware of its life-centre which was religion round which alone, he emphasized, could our Hindi Nation be effectively and purposefully reorganized.
