Description
In Preparing the ninth edition, the author has followed the lines laid out for all the previous editions, namely, to present in a condensed form the homoeopathic material medica for practical use.
The book contains the well known verified characteristic symptoms of all our medicines besides other less important symptoms aiding in the selection of the curative remedy. All the new medicines and essentials of the published clinical experience of the school have been added. In its present compact form, it contains the maximum number of reliable material medica facts in the minimum space.
With the advent of the incomparable ninth edition of the progressive pocket material medica, its modest companion, the Repertory, had been completely remodeled and brought up to date, by embodying much of the newly incorporated material. Many of the sections have been carefully rewritten, and with appropriate expansion, offer a more trustworthy guide for the selection of the homoeopathic remedy. A few prefatory remarks, pertaining to the practical and expeditious use of the reportorial contents, may assist in clarifying a certain inevitable obscurity of plan.
Lastly, it is only by the persistent use of one repertory, that its peculiar and intricate arrangements gradually crystallizes itself in definite outline, in the mind of the student of the same, and thus he attains the ready case and practical insight of the collator, thereby rendering such a clinical bee-line well-nigh indispensable in our day of labour saving devices.
