This book is not merely the biography of a great Mahatma whose mind is established in Brahman; it is, in addition, a treasure-house of spiritual and religious knowledge. That is why it is unique. The beauty of the style and such obvious features of literary excellence may be sassily discovered and enjoyed by all learned readers of any literary sensibility and so I do not propose here to dwell upon them.
It is true, in these days of wild propaganda, fair is made to look foul, and foul, fair, but even wrong-headed critics cannot altogether pervert the essential nature of things. True critics cannot but find out the truth sooner or later. If not today, at least tomorrow it will happen; it is bound to happen. I refrain from discussing the merits of the present work, under the firm conviction that these will be found out and appreciated by discriminating and impartial critics in good time
