It is the mantra of Shuddha Shakti AUM, the Bargos of Savitri, the Consciousness force of the Lord of Light. Gayatri, the greatest and the most beautiful of all the ancient mantas, universally hailed as the mother of the Vedas that has been chanted from time immemorial, has acquired such an enormous mystical power and transcendental importance that it continues to remain even now as the mantra which has been universally accepted as capable of unfolding our spiritual faculties in the most remarkable manner.
It has been urged that Gayatri must be made the national Mantra of India. Just as the Asoka Chakra and the animals have become the national symbol of India, just as the magnificent lion has become our mighty national animal, and just at the beautiful peacock has become our brilliant national bird, so also should the Gayatri be adopted the national Mantra of India.
