Description

This book is an extended and revised version of the author’s doctoral thesis on the impact of Traditions on socio-Moral education of the populace in ancient India. He adopted a regressive view to approach the theme; he started with the present objectives of social (Adult) Education, national and global; then identified the socio-moral values involved in and relevant to the respective objectives and attempted to search these values in Indian Traditions.

It as been found that, such values are abundant in scriptures, conversations, narrations, dialogues, stories and episodes, sculptures and paintings, inscription and edicts. In conclusion, discussion is made on the diffusion of these values down the ages. These may be regarded as eternal human values that are propagated among the masses, from time immemorial, through widespread irrigation of culture.
