Description
As the greatest Hindi and Urdu writer of pre-independence India, Premchand had pioneered modern Hindi literature. His collected works are being published in Urdu in 22 volumes. This book, sixteenth in the series, is a collection of four plays written by him.
Premchand not only wrote novels and short stories, but also plays. He is credited with 8 plays which are being published in two volumes. This 2nd volume of his plays features four plays viz: Sangraam, Nyaya, Hartaal, and Chandi ki Dibiya. Some of his plays were either translations or based on writings in European languages. Most of the writing of Premchand was in Hindi/Urdu and he usually translated them vice versa.
Literary Works of Premchand have been collected in 22 volumes and are being published under the title Kulliyat-e-Premchand. The volumes have been arranged as follows:
Volume 1 to 8 anthologizes his Novels.
Volume 9 to 14 is a collection of his short fiction.
Volume 15 and 16 relate to the plays authored by him.
Volume 17 carries his letters and correspondence
Volume 18 to 20 are omnibus collection of his writings
Volume 21 and 22 contain translated works.
